I paint folk art. I wanted to write something to include in a painting of a sunflower. I've always been encouraged by Sarah Ban Breathnach's quote, "Expect to have hope rekindled. Expect your prayers to be answered in wondrous ways. The dry seasons in life do not last. Spring rains will come again." I wanted to express the same feeling as her quote, but I needed something shorter, more concise. I also needed to include the word summer instead of spring since I was painting a sunflower. Another thought was that we've endured such a frigid winter, I liked the thought of hope for the summer.
